FINDING THE LOWEST COMMON DENOMINATOR (LCD)
Ask yourself, “Are all the prime factors of 12 represented in the LCM so far?”

Answer, “No, the two factors of 2 are represented because the LCM has 3 factors of 2 but a factor of 3 is missing!.”

Add the missing factor of 3 to the LCM.

Thus, LCM = 2 • 2 • 2 • 3 = 24
Add the missing factor 3 to the LCM
