Inequality 2:
  • -2x – 8 > 4
  • -2x – 8 + 8 > 4 + 8
  •  -2x  >  12 
     -2        -2
x < -6 which could also be written as
(-∞, -6)

The final answer is: x < -6 or x > -2 which could also be written as (-∞, -6) ∪ (-2, ∞). It is read x is less than -6 or greater than -2.
