|
To factor a trinomial do the
following:
- Factor out the greatest common factor if there is one.
- If the trinomial can be factored, then set up your binomials
as such when the sign of the quadratic term is positive.
Note: Try to keep the sign of the quadratic term +.
- When the sign of the quadratic term and the sign of the constant term is positive, one of the following
is correct:
(_ + _) (_ + _) or
(_ – _) (_ – _ )
