  FACTORING
The placement of the factors is determined by the sign of the linear term. If the sign of the linear term is positive, then the larger product of the factors used to find the coefficient of the linear term must be positive. If the sign of the linear term is negative, then the larger product of the factors used to find the coefficient of the linear term must be negative.
