 AIRCRAFT ENGINES - THRUST

Thrust is a mechanical force. A force that is generated through the reaction of accelerating a mass of gas, as explained by Newton's Third Law of Motion.

Newton's Third Law states that for every action (force) there is an equal and opposite reaction.

In the image, the air acclerating to the left from the balloon pushes back against the balloon, causing it to move to the right.
