 REVIEW OF AERODYNAMIC TERMS - ENGINE MOUNTS

The number, type and location of aircraft engines varies considerably depending on the type of aircraft and its function. Jet engines normally have between two and four engines. The engines are normally mounted under the wings, on the sides of the vertical stabilizer (tail), or near the base of the vertical stabilizer.
