THE
SCIENCE BEHIND FLIGHT - THE TAKEOFF PHASE OF FLIGHT |
|
The main flight controls used by the
pilot during the takeoff phase include the rudder, horizontal stabilizer
and elevators. Once the aircraft is rolling down the runway (due to
the thrust of the engines), the pilot applies inputs to deflect the
rudder left or right to keep the aircraft centered on the runway. |
