Once the aircraft reaches a predetermined takeoff speed (yes, the pilot has to do “homework” to compute various speeds for certain events during takeoff), the pilot pulls back on the yoke (which raises the elevators on the horizontal stabilizer which helps the aircraft to lift off the ground).
