THE
SCIENCE BEHIND FLIGHT - THE TAKEOFF PHASE OF FLIGHT |
|
It could be those long, slender metal
pieces sticking out of the fuselage – the wings. The shape of
the wings allows the aircraft to generate a force called “lift”.
Lift force helps the aircraft overcome the force of gravity, which
then allows the aircraft to rise off the ground and fly. Some say
lift is a magical force and hard to understand since you can’t
see it, touch it or smell it. |
