THE
SCIENCE BEHIND FLIGHT - THE TAKEOFF PHASE OF FLIGHT
So, what do Bernoulli’s findings
have to do with flying? Since air motion behaves similar to that of
water, we can apply his significant findings to understand the force
of lift related to aircraft flight.
Take a look at the graphic to the right. The point of least pressure
in the tube is at the narrowest point of the tube.
As the air speeds up to squeeze through the narrow section, it can
not press outwards as much. So the pressure is lower where the air
is moving faster.
