Let’s examine the composition
of a function: f(g(x)). The domain of “g” is x and g(x)
is the domain of “f”.
Let’s look at this example:
If f(x) = 3x2 and g(x) = x + 1, find
f(g(2)).
Note: The domain of g
is 2. Thus g(2) = 2 + 1 = 3.
f(g(2)) = f(3)
f(3) = 3 • 3 • 2 = 3 • 9 = 27 |
