THE ESA'S GLOBAL NETWORK

ESRIN (European Space Research Information Network) Frascati, Italy. ESRIN is the ESA’s main center for Earth observation, harvesting images and data from ESA’s own ERS satellites. The data collected here is pooled with observations from the French-led SPOT series and from U.S., Soviet, and Japanese satellites. The task requires data processing on a huge scale, which became even more demanding with the launch of ESA’s large Envisat-1 in 2001.

ESRIN is also the information systems center for the ESA and the channel for public information about the ESA on the World Wide Web.
