THE ESA'S GLOBAL NETWORK

ESTEC (European Space Research and Technology Centre) Noordwijk, The Netherlands. As the ESA’s biggest establishment, ESTEC is its technical interface with European industry and the scientific community. Teams of engineers and scientists study proposals and oversee the development of spacecraft. The ESA’s space science and earth science departments are located here, and so are the directorates of manned spaceflight and microgravity research.

ESTEC also has its own technological laboratories and extensive facilities for testing spacecraft and components under the stresses they will face during launch and in space.
