WHAT IS PROPULSION?

Weight is defined as the measure of the pull on an object due to the force of gravity. This force of gravity is present whether an object is falling, laying on the ground, or being lifted. The force is always there.

It depends where you are as to how much force (weight) there is. For example, if you were on the surface of the Moon, you would weigh one sixth as much as you weigh on the Earth’s surface because the Moon has much less gravitational force at its surface than the Earth does. Because of this difference, it would take much more thrust to launch a rocket from the Earth than it would to launch the same rocket from the moon.
