This section will acquaint you with the basics of circuit measurement and a few of the most common devices used to measure voltage, current, and resistance. However, keep in mind that there are other quantities involved in electrical circuits, such as capacitance, inductance, impedance, true power, and effective power that have not been explored. It is possible to measure any circuit quantity once the proper circuit measuring device is selected. Of course, you will NOT know all there is to know about circuit readings when you finish this segment. That is simply beyond the scope of this module. However, you will have an understanding of the most commonly used test equipment. |
