PARTICULATE CONTAMINANTS: FILTERS

In areas requiring the most stringent controls, an Ultrahigh Efficiency Particle Air (ULPA) filter is employed. Development was based on the HEPA filter design, but with a filtering media using much smaller diameter fibers. This improvement means that the ULPA filter is capable of removing 99.999% of airborne particles as small as 0.12 microns.
