CONTROL & DESIGN STANDARDS: MONITORING

Monitoring of just how clean surface areas are is accomplished by using �witness plates� (steel plates, glass slides, or mirrors). Strategically located throughout the room, these surfaces are allowed to accumulate contaminants for a preset period of time and then are analyzed for contaminants. Any particles found are significant, since those same contaminants can probably also be found throughout the entire room.
